
Burak Gunduz- Therapy Assistant
Burak Gunduz has been working in the disability sector since the beginning of 2020 and is an affiliate member of the Australian Psychological Society. In the past Burak has worked as a Disability Support Worker which involved providing care and assistance to people who has various disabilities including mental health conditions and physical disabilities. Currently, Burak works as a Therapy Assistant to conduct therapeutic related activities under the guidance of a psychologist and is also the Team Leader of the Applications Team. Burak has successfully graduated from Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from Turkey and completed his studies in English. He has extensive knowledge and experience in Mental Health which he attained from training and practice overseas.
His work placement included working at various Psychiatric Hospitals, Clinics, private and government education settings as Intern Psychologist in Turkey. Burak has provided psychological, emotional and other areas of support to families and children who were living in refugee camps at the Turkey – Syrian border.
Moreover, he has expanded his knowledge and skills by receiving ongoing professional development through workshops/training (Such as, psychometric testing and other related (therapies) and ability to perform his role in the related field. Burak also has experience in other human service sectors, which involves volunteer work for government and non-government organizations and other services related to people who have experienced traumatic life events overseas. Burak is passionate and committed to empower, support, and encourage people from different cultural backgrounds to meet their needs and improve their quality of life.
