Bestegul Tungandame is a well-known professional Psychologist working within NSW in a private clinic, and has a long-standing history working within the Turkish speaking community here in Australia.

Bestegul completed a Bachelor of Psychology at Middle Eastern Technical University in 1987. Since graduating she has been working in Turkey as a Psychologist and continuing to practice Psychology in Australia since 1994.

Bestegul Tungandame is a well-known professional Psychologist working within NSW in a private clinic, and has a long-standing history working within the Turkish speaking community here in Australia.

Bestegul has been working for Transcultural Mental Health Centre and Multicultural Gambling Service for NSW as a senior cross-cultural consultant for many years, and has extensive experience working with Non-Government-Organisations; NGO’s creating opportunities for social awareness. Bestegul is dedicated to contribute capacity building in society and improvement of social awareness particularly in CALD community to overcome stigmas of any kind including mental health, gender issues, women rights, domestic violence, sexual assault and human rights.

Further, she is known in NSW for holding seminars, workshops, speeches and media interviews about mental health, cross cultural issues.

Bestegul believes and practices a holistic approach while working as a psychologist, and values and acknowledges the importance of social environments in an individual’s wellbeing.
